Prometheus

When people are talking about the fire they probably remember the great Greek hero of mythology that is Prometheus. This is the titan of the Ancient Greek mythology and the defender of people from the gods.
The meaning of the titan's name means "the one who thinks before, the one who predicts". According to the most ancient version of the myth Prometheus stole the fire from Olympus and gave it to people. He rose into the sky with the help of Athens and gave the fire to the sun. He gave the fire to people hiding it in the stem of the reed and showed people how to keep it. This reed has the substance inside it that is able to burn.
According to another version he created the fire sticks that set the fire. Maybe this myth was talking about the matches. According to another version he taught people the astronomy and understood the reason for the lightning.
For such rude steal Zeus punished the titan ordering the Hephaestus to nail Prometheus down to the Caucasus. Prometheus had to feel the eternal tortures. The eagle that came every day to Prometheus was biting his liver that appeared the next day again. According to different authors these tortures lasted from several centuries to 30 thousand years until Hercules killed the eagle and released Prometheus.
When Zeus decided to release Prometheus he made the ring from the mountain and the iron of the mountain he was bound to. From that time people are wearing the rings.
